                                                                                    Mythology

The collection of past experiences in stories, were given by culture. It had described the creation of the world, which gave people the understanding of the events in nature and the world around them. Also, the myth tells the story of the first people to inhabit the earth, where they are entitled to gods and goddesses, which makes them have super natural and special powers in beliefs. These myths express the values and beliefs in culture, and that every culture has studied their own myth to be distinctive in a group. The Egyptian tried to understand their place in the universe by nature, the earth, the sky, the moon, the sun, the stars, and the Nile River.

So, the real question is, who, what, where, and how, did Mythology take part in Religion for Ancient Egypt?

Logically, Heliopolis, the city of the sun, in Yunu, is where the Egyptian myth has began. From the beginning of time. everything in mythology began with Nu, who is the planet of floods and water chaos, before land had appeared. Nu was the first god to appear out of the waters was Atum. And Atum came from Nu, who was the sun god during the beginning of tme, and was known to be the creator of the world. He was alone at the time, and had mated with his shadow. Atum was known as the " the great he-she" and a bisexual. In Ancient Egypt, they accepted this act, because they found all types of sexual orientations acceptable. Atum had given birth to 2 children, by splitting his son (shu) and vomiting up his daughter (tefnut). The name "Shu" represents the air and the principles of life and Tefnut represents rain and principles of order. For now, Atum, Shu and Tefnut, still remain in the water chaos of Nu , but after some time, Atum had been  separated from his children. When they had reunited, Atum's tears of joy went to the ground, and had caused men to grown. This was the start for Atum to create the world.

Shu and Tefnut, both of Atum's children, soon or later, gave birth to a child named Geb, who is the god of the earth in which the throne of the pharaoh would be decided.Nut was born from Tefnut and Shu , who's the goddess of the sky, and the separator between earth and Nu. Geb and Nut gave birth to Osiris, Isis , Seth and Nephthys. In Ancient Egypt, there was an establishment of kingship of the gods and goddesses. Atum was known as the Khepri, the great scarab beetle, who had establishment of kingship of the gods and goddesses.Atum, was known as the Khepri, the great scarab beetle, and  Ra- Harakhte, the winged solar disk, Ra, the midday sun, Aten, the solar disk or Horus on the horizon. He was the only creator in the universe. Once the sun is up, God Atum travels along Nut during the day and is swallowed by him again, at night. At dawn, it's shown that Nut gives birth to Atum , once the sky opens up to the light. The most famous Egyptian myth is the myth of Osiris.Osiris was credited with many different titles, from god of fertility, king of the dead, god of agriculture, and god of the under world, controller of the Nile floods, and the raising and setting of the sun. All of these titles has one thing in common : life, death and rebirth, because in the myth of Osiris, it's attributed to his life, murder, and eternal life after death.

The myth of Osiris began when he set out to spread law and order across the land and to teach other people how to farm.Osiris was a powerful king and popular with the people, his jealous brother who lured him into a coffin and had sealed his father with molten lead. After wards, Seth sent him down the Nile River into the coffin, which was washed ashore in Lebanon and a tree had encased it.The king of Lebanon was impressed by the size from the tree, and had it cut down, by putting the coffin into the palace.Isis is the wife and sister to Osiris who gave birth to Horus and was the protector of the dead. When Isis, received the news of Osiris's death, she knew the dead could not rest without a proper burial, so she searched and found Osiris's body to bring it back to Egypt. But Seth thought  this was unacceptable and went after revenge, to cut Osiris into pieces and scattered his remains throughout Egypt.Again, Isis went out to found all the pieces and had made Osiris's remains into wax figures.

These wax duplicates were placed in a temple to be worshiped. Isis had preserves her husband's body with linen bandages, and used her magic to breath life back into Osiris. Out from nowhere, in surprise, Osiris had roused as a god king, and for he,was the ruler to the underworld.

All of this, was the roots of mummification and rebirths into the after world had begun.

Therefore, mythology explains so much information to be part of Ancient Egypt religion, in narrowing down what, when, where, and how it all began. This all started from the littlest bit of time, to greater expansions in Egyptian history.
